The former BATTHYANY castle in 1930 owned by Wilhelm TILL
from Vienna. In 1524 the village "Nádkuth" (Rohrbrunn) was given to Franz
BATTHYANY, consisting of 7 farms. In 1599 the Batthyanys already owned 20 houses
in Rohrbrunn. In 1605 the BOCSKAY rebels destroyed almost the whole village (most villages in the Güssing area met the same
fate!).
Number of inhabitants: 1802: 357 (354 Catholics, 3 Lutherans), 1812: 371 (367
Catholics, 4 Lutherans), 1856: 452 (450 Catholics, 2 Lutherans), 1930: 750 (748
Catholics, 2 Lutherans; in 99 houses).
